Hi art squad. Hope you are good. As I’ve mentioned in my previous blog “Newspaper Art by Dep’Art”, for this week will be newspaper art exploration.
So folks, I hereby present to you one of my paintings of the moment- “Nature in bloom”. As you might see below, this painting was done on newspaper in a watercolour and gouache style.
Well, to be honest, working on the newspaper has not been my first time, however, this one was pretty challenging as the portrait was only in one colour which is black, henceforth, I had to manoeuvre the different tones properly.
By adding the organic touch to one eye was indeed amazing as it prevented the monotone from the artwork. Well, for the tropical flowers and leaves, I had to go for the gouache technique else the tropical colours would not appear well, as the lettering on the newspaper was quite dominant. Overall, the composition turned out pretty well and could say it was well balanced.
