Tips when getting started with watercolour.

In case you’re getting started with watercolour, look at this rundown of pro tips that will change your life for good. Watercolour is fun and beautiful but sometimes quite intimidating. But watercolour amateurs, don’t let that to drive you off.

1. Mix enough paint to cover the entire wash area for an even consistency and load the paintbrush evenly to level the consistency all over the work.

2.First, use a pallet to dilute that pigment, then apply on paper. Mixing the water and paint directly on paper might cause paper lumps.

3. Have two water cups, one to wash the paint brush and one to dilute the paint. This will avoid the colour to turn sombre.

4. Invest in proper watercolour paper, if possible acid-free, pH neutral and 100% cotton.

5. When it comes to brushes, get the good stuff. I recommend the brand Royal and Langnickel or Picasso.

6. Have fun!!! 😄
