Pensive – Current Painting

Hiya! I hope you are enjoying the week so far. I wanted to share with you my painting at the moment. Pensive. The painting reflects a zero expression mood on the character’s face. I wanted to depict a deep serious reflection and a dreamy atmosphere.

Through this artwork, I got the opportunity to demonstrate some confident stroke skills here and there with different colours showing some light and shade. Coming to colour choice, I went for a warm colour palette. For the human figure, I chose orange as a primary colour and purple for shadows and yellow and clear white for light.

For the background, I went for a wine purple and contrasting with a sky blue and some peachy orange. Overall, I find the composition balanced and strokes in the background were well experimented to bring the colours to harmony.
