I’ve been an Art fan for years and I believe that colour is an exciting component in an artwork. Colour can be used to express moods, feelings and expressions in both realism and surrealism paintings.
Which brings us to the Mona Lisa. During that time, one of my legend, Leonardo Da Vinci, created that mysterious artwork using pigments. However today, colours of the Mona Lisa have darkened and have been badly tinted by golden yellows and greens. Researchers declared that Leonardo used several layers of coloured glazing which have oxidised giving the picture its current tinted aspect.
Forget about all the theories now, comparing these two artworks, we can clearly identify two different moods. One with the darker colour palette, provokes mysterious vibes- gloomy, sadness, dull. On the other side, the brighter artwork, promotes more of a happiness vibe. Likewise, many artists play with that theory to demonstrate their expression on canvas.
I will get more into detail about the whole shebang of colour theory and other mysterious artworks.
Good bye for now!
